What’s showing aboard Costa Diadema?
Cruise News – Sept. 26, 2014
Costa Cruises teased out details of entertainment options aboard Costa Diadema, the line’s new 3,734-passenger flagship. Expect everything from Irish step dancing to a laser play area.
New shows in the three-level Emerald Theater include “Flavors of Italy,” a musical tribute to Italian art, opera, cinema, and fashion; and “Feel the Beat,” featuring sounds ranging from hip-hop to Irish dancing. A new circus show will include audience participation, the line says.
In addition to the previously announced addition of a Country Rock Club, there will be a classic rock music show production. Elsewhere, in Costa Diadema‘s Star Laser area, passengers will be able to test their skills competing in a Laser Maze, where the goal is not to touch any of the laser beams.
The new ship debuts in the Med in November, when she’ll be christened by a yet-to-be-named godmother, who will be chosen among 500 female travel agent applicants participating in a contest to be la Madrina della Regina or “Godmother of the Queen.”
- Crystal Cruises is simplifying its dress code. Starting in late December, passengers will be asked to come to dinner in either Crystal Casual (a dressed-up version of casual) or black-tie optional attire, depending on the night.
- Quantum of the Seas is out of the shipyard and at sea, on schedule to debut in November.
- Carnival Live! will continue in 2015. The line hasn’t released a complete list of performers yet, but did reveal that Rascal Flatts would be among them. The series brings popular artists aboard the line’s ships at ports of call for exclusive performances for passengers.
