Princess to Float a Rose Bowl Love Boat

Watch the Rose Parade on January 1 and you’ll see a floating floral version of the bow of Regal Princess.

Plus, aboard the float will be six original cast members of “The Love Boat” TV series. Yup, Captain Stubing (Gavin MacLeod) and gang.

It’s the first time Princess Cruises has appeared in the parade, but the cruise line, which is celebrating its 50^th anniversary year, couldn’t resist the parade’s theme of “Inspiring Stories.”

“For the last five decades of our guests sailing with us to amazing places, they’ve returned with inspiring memories that have lasted a lifetime, and we want to celebrate this on the very first day of 2015,” said Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises.

In addition to appearing in the New Year’s Day parade, the cast members are also serving as godparents for Regal Princess, which debuts in Fort Lauderdale in November.
