• MSC Cruises has revealed plans to make its first sailing to China. The newly renovated, 65,000 grt MSC Lirica will call on Shanghai, China’s largest megalopolis, on May 1, 2016. The visit will wind up a 60-day round-the-world Grand Voyage departing on March 3, 2016, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Prices (including beverages, laundry and eight shore excursions) start at $4,799 per person.

• Azamara Club Cruises launched a cruise industry–first app that features a series of 360-degree virtual-reality experiences. The video series, known as Azamara 3di, uses virtual-reality technology to help immerse future guests in what it’s like to be aboard Azamara Journey and to experience excursions in Panama, Costa Rica, and Cartagena, Colombia. For now, the app is available on devices that run iOS 6.0 or above. Android users can get the same experience by going to http://www.azamara3di.com.

• Crystal Cruises announced that it is expanding complimentary Internet access. Beginning August 30, 2015, on both Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity, the ships will provide one free hour per guest, per day for Deluxe Stateroom and Penthouse guests and 90 minutes for Penthouse Suite guests.  The 24-hour satellite-enabled wireless Internet will also be available aboard Crystal Yacht Cruises’ Crystal Esprit on her maiden voyage embarking December 23, 2015.
