Jimmy Buffett Welcomes Guests to Margaritaville Resort

Cruise News – Nov. 19, 2015

If your upcoming cruise embarks or disembarks in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, you have a cool, new option when it comes to your pre/post cruise accommodations. That’s because just 10 miles south of Port Everglades, directly on Ocean Drive, is the brand-new Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort.

MargaritavilleFlipflopPoptopInspired by the lyrics and lifestyle of singer, songwriter, and author Jimmy Buffett, Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort is a destination resort and entertainment complex situated on the legendary Hollywood Beach Broadwalk in Hollywood, Florida.

During this weekend’s grand opening celebration, hotel guests and other invited attendees were treated to a surprise beachside concert by none other than Jimmy Buffett himself. The performance was an unannounced show following his Workin’ N’ Playin’ tour. “I’m finally playing at the Hollywood Bandshell,” he said to resort guests and local residents who gathered on the beach and surrounding streets to watch his performance on large screens. He and his band played a great set that included all the classics including Cheeseburger in Paradise, Volcano, Fins, It’s 5 O’clock Somewhere, and, of course, Margaritaville.

The 17-story oceanfront resort boasts a fun, relaxed, tropical vibe as soon as you enter the lobby and encounter the instantly iconic Blown Out Flip Flop sculpture, island-inspired seating, and whimsical lighting. The vibe continues straight through the resort to the beachfront tropical pool area, LandShark Bar, and Flowrider surfing simulator.

Influenced by the colors of the sea, sand, and sky, the 349 coastal-luxe, contemporary guestrooms are decorated with sleek, teak-finished furnishings, subtle maritime accents, crisp white bedding, and colorful accessories.
