Holland America Line Gives Glimpse of ms Koningsdam

Holland America Line has posted a video online with artist renderings of the ms Koningsdam. If you’ve been anxious to see what noted designers Adam D. Tihany and Bjørn Storbraaten have in mind for the line’s largest ship ever, click here.

What you’ll see is cutting-edge, musically inspired spaces including a three-deck atrium embracing the shape of musical instruments and a glamorous two-deck dining room with soaring wine tower.

There’s also a stylish, expanded Queens Lounge, now with two tiers, designed for dancing and to host activities including the line’s popular B.B. King’s Blues Club.

A new cabin category will debut on Koningsdam – family cabins. There will also be a new, two-deck, glass-enclosed pool area – the first level with a traditional pool setup, the second level with a “new concept” for the brand (the line is holding details for later).

The line says the new ship heralds a “new era in design,” combining contemporary and classic elegance.

“When guests come aboard ms Koningsdam they’ll know they’re on a Holland America Line ship, but they’ll see we’re taking a forward-thinking approach to many of the design elements,” said Stein Kruse, CEO of Holland America Group.

The 2,650-passenger ship debuts in February 2016.
