Harmony of the Seas to Debut Aquatic Adventure Park

Cruise News – Aug. 18, 2015

When Royal Caribbean International introduces Harmony of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship will be the first to feature Splashaway Bay, an interactive aqua park for kids. This vibrant water playground for kids and toddlers will feature sea creature water cannons, winding slides, a gigantic drench bucket, and a multi-platform jungle gym.

Guests of all ages will get a thrill ride on the Ultimate Abyss, a 10-story slide with a 100-foot dramatic plunge that begins in the Pool and Sports Zone at the aft of the ship down to the Boardwalk neighborhood below. RCI_low_1437058073_Launchpad-OverheadSpiraling five decks above the open-air Central Park in the center of the ship, water slides Cyclone, Typhoon, and Supercell come together as The Perfect Storm, inviting people to slide into an incredible adventure. Thrill seekers can test their courage in Supercell, featuring a champagne bowl that will swirl riders around as they descend into their approach toward a big splash finale.

Royal Caribbean’s largest and newest megaship will debut in May 2016 for an inaugural summer season in Europe on 7-night Western Mediterranean itineraries. In November 2016,
Harmony of the Seas will arrive to her homeport of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, offering 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings.

The Oasis-class ship will span 16 guest decks and carry 5,497 guests at double occupancy, and will feature Royal Caribbean’s exclusive seven-neighborhood concept, including Central Park, the Boardwalk, the Royal Promenade, the Pool and Sports Zone, Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center, Entertainment Place, and Youth Zone.
