  • Seven Seas Explorer has floated out from Fincantieri in Genoa, ready for the next phase of construction, which will see all the interior spaces finished before her maiden voyage in July 20, 2016. “In less than nine months Seven Seas Explorer will make its grand debut and completely revolutionize the luxury vacation market,” said Jason Montague, president and chief operating officer for Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “Our vision of building the most luxurious ship ever is quickly becoming a reality.”

 

  • Royal Caribbean International has laid the keel for the fourth Oasis-class ship at the STX shipyard in St. Nazaire, France. The ceremony saw a 154-by-32-foot block of steel weighing 1,000 tons lifted onto the building dock, with newly minted coins placed carefully under the keel for good luck. The ship is scheduled for delivery in spring 2017.

 

  • MSC Cruises is launching a new website for North America, as part of the Italian’s line mission to reach out to customers with special offers and deals, destinations and excursions; and improved web check-in functionality. The line’s partnership with Rough Guides has also provided site visitors with fascinating content about the more than 200 ports MSC Cruises visits around the world.

 

  • Seabourn Encore RenderingSeabourn has released new exterior renderings of their ultra-luxury ship Seabourn Encore, launching in December 2016. “Detail by detail, the creation of Seabourn Encore has been exciting to behold and share. The new exterior renderings now posted on the ship’s dedicated microsite put Seabourn’s newest addition in perspective, and represent another milestone in the evolution of small-ship cruising,” says John Delaney, Seabourn’s senior vice president, marketing and sales. The elegant ship is being fashioned by legendary hospitality designer Adam D. Tihany.
