Porthole Cruise News Briefs – May 20, 2016

* Regent Seven Seas Cruises has announced a 2018 world voyage showcasing destinations across the Southern Hemisphere. The 137-night Navigate the World voyage aboard the newly refurbished Seven Seas Navigator will begin and end in Los Angeles, taking in 64 ports of call on five continents, including Sydney, Singapore, Cape Town, and León Viejo, Nicaragua.

* Luxury operator Crystal Cruises is doubling up on its popular “Experiences of Discovery” theme cruises, doing back-to-back voyages on Crystal Serenity with onboard experts from the worlds of jazz; microbrews; mind, body, and spirit; and golf. The 14-day itineraries both begin with overnight stays in New Orleans.

* Cruise industry execs have confirmed that Asia still holds the top place for new destinations and as an emerging market for new cruises. Decision makers at the Seatrade Cruise Asia conference in Busan, South Korea, have confirmed that the focus on Asian ports is only growing. “I expect you will see more and more ships cruising in this region in the years to come,” says Mike Pawlus, director of strategic itinerary and destination planning for Azamara Club Cruises.
