• When Uniworld’s S.S. Maria Theresa debuts in late March, the river ship will have a royal sendoff. The ship’s godmother will be Princess Anita von Hohenberg, a direct descendent of Maria Theresa of the powerful Habsburg-Lothringen dynasty (for whom the ship is named). Princess Anita has served as the managing director and owner of the centuries-old Artstetten Castle and Estate in Lower Austria, the former summer residence of the Austro-Hungarian imperial family and final resting place of her great-grandparents, heir to the throne Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Este and his wife Duchess Sophie von Hohenberg, whose double assassination in 1914 set off a chain of events that led to World War I.

 

• For those who like to plan way in advance, Crystal Cruises is out super early with its late 2016 through 2017 itineraries. The line’s two ships will do 57 voyages to 268 ports in 84 countries, with more than 150 overnights. Crystal will return to the Middle East and Holy Land for the first time in several years in November 2017, with Crystal Symphony visiting places include Doha, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi.

 

• SeaDream Yacht Club announced eight special wine cruises for 2015. The Wine Voyage itineraries range from 5 to 9 days and include tastings from local wineries en-route, a master class led by a wine expert, and a tasting with a top winemaker. At an exclusive Winemaker’s Dinner on board, cuisine is matched with a special menu and a winemaker joins for the evening. The sailings are in the Mediterranean and Adriatic.

 

• Cirque du Soleilhas returned to Miami with one of its newest touring shows, Amaluna, which premiered under the iconic blue and yellow Big Top at Sun Life Stadium. Written and directed by Tony Award–winning director, Diane Paulus, Cirque du Soleil‘s 33rd production Amaluna is a celebration of love and a tribute to the work and voice of women.
