Oasis of the Seas Gets Dynamic Dining

The world’s largest cruise ship, Oasis of the Seas, has emerged from a two-week dry dock in Rotterdam with a bevy of new amenities … including in the culinary realm.

As on the soon-to-debut Quantum of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas has been retrofitted for Dynamic Dining, meaning, say goodbye to the three-deck main dining room. Instead, passengers will choose from a host of complimentary and for-a-fee restaurants.

While the design work has been done, the actual switchover to the new dining system will take place with the mammoth ship’s March 14 cruise. Complimentary options in the former main restaurant space will include comfort food at American Icon Grill, pan-Asian at Silk, and formal night every night, with a menu to match, at The Grande.

Other new concepts include Izumi Hibachi & Sushi, Sabor Taqueria & Tequila Bar, and Wonderland, billed as a creative culinary experience.

In addition to dining changes, Oasis of the Seas now boasts bandwidth that the line says is akin to broadband on land (yes, that fast), Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS in the main theater, and a first-at-sea Kate Spade shop. There are also 10 new suites and a host of new suite amenities, including dining in the exclusive Coastal Kitchen and access to a lounge and sun deck area reserved for upper-tier passengers.

Sister ship Allure of the Seas will get a similar redo in May 2015, Royal Caribbean International officials said.
