New Emerald Waterways ship under construction

Emerald Waterways said construction has begun in The Netherlands on the line’s fifth “Star Ship,” Emerald Belle, expected to launch in early 2016.
“The demand continues to strengthen and outpace supply,” said Lisa Norton, Emerald Waterways’ North American vice president of brand management.
The line is also launching Emerald Dawn and Emerald Sun this year.
The ships carry 182 passengers in 72 suites (in three sizes) and 20 staterooms — two on each ship specifically for solo passengers. Among ship amenities are an outdoor, heated swimming pool with a glass roof that transforms into a movie theater at night. The ships also have an onboard hairdresser and massage therapy room.
