Virgin Cruises Officially Formed

After months of rumors, Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Group has money in place (from Bain Capital) and officially announced the formation of Virgin Cruises.
The cruise company’s CEO is Tom McAlpin, a former president of Disney Cruise Line and most recently president and CEO of The World.
Virgin Cruises will be headquartered in South Florida and plans to construct two new ships.
“We plan to shake up the cruise industry and deliver a holiday that customers will absolutely love,” said Branson, in a press release. “They’ll be sailing on the latest ships offering great quality, a real sense of fun, and many exciting activities all delivered with the famed Virgin service.”
The exact what, where, when, and how is not yet being disclosed.
