Miami Cruise Layover

Top 3 Cocktail Bars for your Miami Cruise Layover

Have a day to kill prior to your Miami cruise? Do you want to get a taste of the true Miami local bar scene? Check out these trendy spots on your Miami cruise layover.

  1. The Broken Shaker – Mixology, mixology, mixology. The bartenders at The Broken Shaker are oozing with passion. They are true alchemists and love a creative challenge. Feel free to have a seat in this intimate space, meet fellow travelers, and let your bartenders’ creative energy run free. You will not be dissapointed. My favorite spirit is Campari, mostly found in a Negroni and Campari Orange. However they took Campari to a whole other level. This space is extremely inviting, and is connected to a hostel so you will find a well-traveled/interesting international crowd.
  2. The Corner – Imagine walking into a library-esque atmosphere, however obscure liquor is on the shelves, not books. This bar is nestled on a no-pretense corner of downtown Miami, and is a feast for the eyes with its rich wooden decor/ambiance. It certainly feels like you have time traveled and are sitting in a nondescript bar that Hemingway would have frequented. One of my favorite drinks here is the Ginger Rogerin (Bols Genever, lime, mint, ginger, ginger beer).
  3. Employees Only – This tucked away space lives and breathes in a 1920s Miami Beach historic cottage, yet evokes the feeling of an underground New York speakeasy. Locals and travelers frequent Employees Only for its effortless atmosphere and designer food and cocktails. The inviting mixed decor, hints of art deco, and intriguing group of humans that frequent this place bring an unforgettable experience.

This Google review by Brigette Hein does Employees Only the justice that it deserves.
