The Carnival Paradise passes the historic El Morro Castle in Havana, Cuba

  • Carnival Cruise Line has added another 20 voyages to Cuba on Carnival Paradise from Tampa in 2019. The 5-day trips will include day-long or overnight stays in Havana. These come in addition to the 17 Cuba cruises on Carnival Sensation from Miami in 2019.
  • Viking Cruises announced its 2019 Ocean & River Voyages, which start on Europe’s rivers aboard a Viking Longship, then transfer to an ocean ship to explore Scandinavia. In May 2019, the Grand European & Viking Fjords will sail from Budapest up the Danube and the Rhine to Amsterdam, then across the North Sea to Bergen. The Rhine & Viking Shores & Fjords itinerary will sail between Basel and Bergen.
  • Holland America Line has honored Archbishop Desmond Tutu with a new recognition, the Shared Humanity Award, to be given annually to “a leader and change-maker who has dedicated their life to inspiring others to see that the things that unite us are greater than those that divide us.” The archbishop came aboard Amsterdam in Cape Town during a stop on the ship’s Grand World Voyage. Line president Orlando Ashford presented a $40,000 donation to the Desmond Tutu Peace Foundation.
