• Fans of the elusive white truffle will find tasting opportunity at exclusive dinners (for-a-fee, taking into account the rarity) on Celebrity Cruises ships this month and next. The line acquired two 700-gram “diamonds of the kitchen” at the invitation-only World White Truffle Auction in Grinzane Cavour, Italy…
• All-inclusive river line Scenic Cruises says its Scenic Diamond will cruise the Gironde, Dordogne and Garonne rivers on a new 12-day Bordeaux itinerary (including a hotel night in Paris) beginning in 2015. The departures will be August to December. Book early and the line will sweeten the pot with free airfare to Europe…
•  Princess Cruises hosts hundreds of weddings each year but not usually in ship atriums. Porthole‘s Fran Golden and award-winning travel journalist David Molyneaux broke the mold, inviting the whole ship to their “Love Boat” nuptials aboard Regal Princess, on a three-day cruise to the Bahamas from Fort Lauderdale. Captain Edward Perrin conducted the ceremony and Gavin MacLeod, Captain Stubing on The Love Boat TV show, did a reading.
