Ultra-Luxury Cruise Line Sets Sights on Cuba
Seabourn Cruise Line isn’t the first cruise brand operated by Carnival Cruise Line to sail to Cuba, but it very well be the most luxurious. The ultra-luxury cruise line announced recent approval to begin sailing to the island from Miami and San Juan, Puerto Rico starting in late 2019.
Cuba Welcomes Luxury Cruise Line
While Carnival Cruise Line and Holland America Line are already sailing to Cuba, Seabourn Cruise Line ships offer a different experience for those looking for a higher-end vacation. Seabourn is calling their new itineraries “port-intensive, culture-immersive voyages” designed to inform and entertain guests visiting one of the Caribbean’s most interesting locales.

Richard Meadows, President of Seabourn, offered his perspective on how the new Cuba itineraries enhance the cruise line.
“For many luxury travelers, they aim to find new places to explore and discover meaningful new cultural opportunities, and Cuba is one of the most sought-after emerging destinations for many of our guests,” he said. “We are excited to finally be able to include Cuba in our itineraries, and our guests and travel partners have been anxiously awaiting an ultra-luxury travel experience with a wider selection of destinations in this relatively undiscovered Caribbean treasure. These Cuba itineraries are fresh and sure to satisfy the curiosity of anyone who has considered visiting.”
Explore a Unique Island
After disembarking on the island, passengers are encouraged to try UNESCO Partner Tours through Cuba’s World Heritage cities like Santa Clara and Trinidad, the Biosphere Reserve at Las Terrazas, as well as participatory excursions tracing the Cuban culinary, musical and artistic heritage and meetings with arts and community projects in Havana, Santiago and Cienfuegos.
The first Seabourn Cruise Line ship to sail to Cuba will be Seabourn Sojourn in November of 2019. The cruise departs from Miami with stops in Havana, Antilla, Santiago de Cuba, Cienfuegos, Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.
