CEO creates an Unselfish World

IMSC Cruises’ Richard Sasso works to make the world a better place.

Richard E. Sasso is a busy guy. He’s the president and CEO of MSC Cruises (USA), the American arm of a European cruise line known for its abundant Mediterranean itineraries and elegant design aesthetic. Sasso has worked in the cruise industry for more than 40 years, holding top positions at Costa

Cruises and Chandris Cruises and serving as president of Celebrity Cruises for six years. He’s also chaired the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) and the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA).

As if that wasn’t enough, Sasso recently decided to extend his professional talents to the world of philanthropy by launching Unselfish World, a project (and book) based on his philosophy of encouraging individuals to mindfully act in selfless ways. In conjunction, he has created UnselfishWorld.org, a

foundation that supports causes that give thanks to those who have made personal sacrifices without expecting rewards. Sasso talked with Porthole about giving, and how everyone can join in.
