Windstar to Cruise Tahiti Year-Round

Windstar Cruises has announced it will position the 148-passenger Wind Spirit year-round in the South Pacific, sailing the Society and Tuamotu Islands of Tahiti beginning in May 2015.

The line recently returned to the market for a season after a 10-year hiatus. Wind Spirit, with its six computer-operated sails, will sail 7-, 10- and 11-day itineraries. Snorkeling and diving opportunities will be highlighted.

The 7-day “Dreams of Tahiti” cruise begins in Papeete, and visits Moorea, Tahaa, Raiatea, Huahine, and Bora Bora.

The longer ‘Tahiti and Tuamotu Islands” cruises call on the same ports plus Takapoto and Ranguroa — the 11-day also includes Fakarava, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

Before startup, the yacht will undergo a renovation that will include a new stateroom design, officials said.
