Cruise Ship Dining

5 Dining Options to Try on Your Next Cruise

A great vacation captivates all the senses; touch, sight, sound, smell, and of course, taste. After a fun-filled day enjoying activities aboard the ship or exploring a port of call, most travelers have worked up quite the appetite. Cruise ships are known for sparing no expense to create a luxurious guest experience and the dining options are no exception.

Here are some of the most delectable, unique and downright awesome dishes offered by the top cruise lines!

Celebrity Cruises

The most interesting meals take the dishes we already know and serve them up in a unique way. At Qsine aboard Celebrity Cruises, Sushi Lollipops are a prime example of thinking outside the bento box. Start your meal with spicy tuna, salmon, shrimp and snow crab all rolled expertly onto a stick for fun and convenience. The Lump Crab Martini, featuring fresh crab, avocado, and cucumber, is another popular starter that tickles the taste buds.

At Blu, another restaurant on board Celebrity ships, culinary offerings feature a modern elegance without the unnecessary charade. Be sure to try the Angus Beef Carpaccio, thin slices of raw beef accented with black truffle aioli, a fresh herb salad, and garlic chips.

If you save room for dessert, the Chocolate Tombstone at Qsine is a crowd pleaser. A mix of rice krispies, Nutella, and a delightful ganache, the Tombstone is a must have for any chocolate-lover.

Disney Cruise Line

You may think Disney is just for the kids, but believe us, there’s plenty on board for Mom and Dad to enjoy. Taste and memory are intricately linked and many of the dishes aboard a Disney ship draw inspiration from a classic Disney film or production. The Princess and the Frog inspired the menu at Tiana’s Place, a New Orleans-style eatery boasting the best beignets the Big Easy has to offer. Enjoy Southern classics like Shrimp and Grits or try something new with Charlotte La Bouff’s Bucatini Pasta.

Palo, a restaurant serving the flavors of Northern Italy, can be found on every Disney ship. The Hot Chocolate Soufflé features rich vanilla bean and chocolate drizzles alongside a scoop of ice cream.

Carnival Cruise Line

When hunger interrupts your fun and excitement aboard a Carnival cruise, there’s only one place to go; Guy’s Burger Joint. Serving more than 1,000 per day, PER SHIP, Guy’s burgers are the brainchild of chef and Flavortown’s most famous resident, Guy Fieri. Choose from a massive list of toppings and sauces and build your dream burger and fries.

If you have any room left over, try Carnival’s famous Warm Chocolate Melting Cake, a hot cup of molten chocolate cake served with a side of vanilla ice cream. More than 8 million guests enjoy the dish aboard Carnival ships each year, making it one of the most popular menu items.

Norwegian Cruise Line

When guests aboard a Norwegian Cruise Line ship get hungry, they don’t have to go far for a quick bite or a multi-course meal. For the carnivorous out there, the Tomahawk Rib Chop at Cagney’s Steakhouse is as epic as it gets. This 29-ounce chop comes crusted in Dijon or Gorgonzola and is served topped with your choice of au poivre or garlic butter sauce.

Food Republic, another dining option aboard Norwegian ships, invites guests to enjoy flavors and delicacies from around the world. The seared Ahi Tuna Tataki with heirloom tomatoes and basil ponzu is perfect for sharing along with a traditional California Roll. The Miso Black Cod Skewers feature fresh Black Cod dipped in lemon miso topped with sesame seeds and cilantro.

Princess Cruises

Shockingly good. That’s what the Los Angeles Times had to say about the celebrity chef-inspired menu aboard Princess Cruises. At SHARE, famed Australian chef Curtis Stone designed a menu featuring such delicacies as the Butter-Poached Lobster Tail or Duck Leg Confit.

Skipping dessert isn’t recommended aboard a Princess ship. After dinner, tuck into the Citron Tart with sliced raspberries and Italian meringue or enjoy a slice of Toffee Cheesecake with red wine reduction, homemade raisins, and macerated grapes. You’ll always dine like royalty when vacationing with Princess.
