Royal Caribbean Unveils Entertainment Lineup for Icon of the Seas

Embark on a unique entertainment journey on  Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas in January 2024! Featuring “ The Wizard of Oz” at sea, live music, comedy, and a debut cast of robots and skateboarders, Icon of the Seas promises an unforgettable adventure for all its guests!

More about the Entertainment Lineup 

Icon of the Seas will feature over 75 world-class performers with innovative technology, such as 3D flying systems and robotic diving boards for high divers, the AquaDome, Aqua Theater, Royal Theater, and Absolute Zero ice arena. The ship will host  50 live musicians and comedians, such as Lou’s Jazz ‘n Blues and Dueling Pianos, and revamped classics, such as Schooner Bar and the Point & Feather English pub, to create an unparalleled experience for their guests.

 Adventures in the Aquadome

“Aqua Action” is a fusion of technology and physical feats, starring a one-of-a-kind cast. This high-energy production features Olympic-level high divers, skateboarders, aerialists, slackliners, and synchronized swimmers, all united with groundbreaking elements like a double 3D flying system and multi-functional robots that serve as diving boards and set designers.

“ Pirates vs. Mermaids” invites guests to a whimsical realm where a playful narrative unfolds, featuring beloved fairytale characters, humor that appeals to both adults and children, and a friendly showdown between pirates and mermaids to determine the true rulers of the sea.

Entertainment in the Royal Theater 

Royal Caribbean adapts“ The Wizard of Oz,” the timeless tale of Dorothy’s adventures in Oz. This innovative and modern tale adaptation is the first at sea and includes characters suspended above the audience, groundbreaking set design, unique stage effects, over 600 costume elements, and an original score performed by a fresh 16-piece orchestra.

 Meanwhile, “SHOWBAND! Live. Music. Now”  combines the musical abilities of 16 musicians with the groundbreaking sound and video technology of the theater. The show’s conductors and instrumentalists specializing in strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion will use live music to create a  sensory experience for the audience.

Absolute Zero Ice Arena Adventures

“Starburst: Elemental Beauty” portrays the periodic table of elements, exploring the essence of life’s fundamental building blocks. The Olympic-level ice cast will astonish with high-speed choreography, showcasing remarkable tricks and soaring jumps made possible by the cutting-edge oval-shaped ice arena. Enhanced by mesmerizing digitally mapped backgrounds and dynamic lighting, this show provides an all-encompassing immersive experience.

“Once Upon a Time: The King’s Royal Ball” caters to younger guests and families, presenting a unique take on beloved childhood tales and providing an adventure filled with surprises and novel elements that deviate from the original narratives.

Other Entertainment

With nine hotspots on Icon of the Seas featuring  Caribbean beats, Latin music, and more, and an adult-only Manhattan-inspired Comedy Club, there is something for everyone. 

 “SHIPS AHOY!” is an event where all manner of seafarers, including scalawags and swashbucklers, will seize control of the transformed Royal Promenade. Their fleets and gatherings will bring together numerous shipmates from various eras, culminating in a battle of skills and wits.
