- Uniworld launches its Super Ship S.S. Maria Theresa later this month. Early photos show over-the-top décor for the “floating palace on water.” Empress Maria Theresa herself appears in a 10-foot-high painting in the grand lobby.
- Carnival Sunshine will debut a series of cruises from New York, Charleston, and Norfolk in 2016.
- AmaWaterways has signed a deal with active tour operator Backroads for bike-river vacations. The program starts on the Danube River this year and extends to the Rhine, Rhone, Seine, Douro, Garonne, and Mekong rivers in 2016.
- Windstar Cruises named veteran travel writer Wendy Perrin as godmother for the upcoming Star Breeze. The small-ship line also announced it will return to the island of Montserrat on new Caribbean itineraries next year.
- Royal Caribbean International is positioning Explorer of the Seas in Alaska next year, where it will be the largest ship to sail in the region.
