New Carnival Vista on the Way
The world won’t see the 4,000-passenger Carnival Vista until spring 2016, but the first steel was cut last week at the Fincantieri shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy – signaling that construction has begun.
Carnival Vista will be the largest ship ever built for the Carnival Cruise Lines brand and the first newbuild for the line since the 3,690-passenger Carnival Breeze debuted in 2012.
Officials said in a statement that the 135,000-ton “Fun Ship” will bring “several innovations unique to this vessel.”
Specifics are being kept under wraps, though there have been hints that the name of the ship means a new ocean-view focus on board – as in vistas.
Carnival Vista will feature the line’s expanding lineup of Fun Ship 2.0 enhancements in the areas of dining, bar, and entertainment, officials say.
That means we can expect such branded experiences as a Guy’s Burger Joint,WaterWorks water park and RedFrog Pub, serving Carnival’s own brandedThirstyFrog Red beer, all of which have proven popular with Carnival guests.
Among important revelations still to come are where the new ship will be homeported and what itineraries it will sail.
Carnival Vista will debut as the 25th ship in the Carnival fleet.
