Celebrity’s new suite-class restaurant revealed

Celebrity Cruises has revealed the name, menu, and a first look at the new exclusive dining experience the line is creating for passengers in suites — part of a setup that gives higher-end guests a more luxurious, ship-within-a-ship experience.

The theme of the exclusive restaurant Luminae is “light.” Menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner will be made from scratch, using locally sourced regional ingredients. Every item will only be featured once on a two-week cruise.

Celebrity’s Executive Chef John Suley says passengers can expect such dishes as “caviar and crème fraîche, a creamy black-truffle risotto with fricassee of wild mushrooms and Parmigiano-Reggiano, and a côte de bœuf with roasted root vegetables and béarnaise sauce.”

Special touches will include tableside presentation of signature dishes and a gourmet chocolate and desserts chart. The wine list, specially designed for Luminae guests, will feature more than 400 selections.

The new restaurant will debut on the line’s Modern Luxury ships beginning in April.
