Puerto Rico’s capital is a shopper’s smorgasbord, with not only the Caribbean’s largest shopping mall (the 300-store Plaza Las Américas), but also its most luxurious at the Mall of San Juan, which has more than 100 high-end shops. Together with the clutch of independent boutiques in Old San Juan, they offer plenty of opportunities to perfect your portside purchasing skills.


Head to Callé San Francisco to snag one of this trendy tienda’s signature canvas totes (we like the classic double-strap Mercado bag) that will take you from the port to la playa in style.


Find minimalist clothing, the owner’s delicate feminine jewelry, and butter-soft leather accessories in this Callé de la Cruz store where indie designers’ work is displayed in an intimate environment.

Mi Pequeño

Miniature hand-painted plaster replicas of San Juan’s colorful Spanish Colonial homes and buildings are the specialty of this Callé Fortaleza storefront, which also offers complimentary personalization.
