Porthole Cruise News Briefs – Feb. 6, 2015

• Viking Cruises has launched a new sponsorship deal with PBS (after the line’s success with sponsoring MASTERPIECE with Downton Abbey). The line is now also sponsor for The Great British Baking Show, featuring Mary Berry, godmother of the Longship Viking Alsvin. The show is new on PBS but already a big hit in the UK.
• Crosby, Stills & Nash will perform a series of exclusive concerts aboard Cunard Line’s Queen Mary 2 on the ship’s 7-day trans-Atlantic crossing embarking New York on September 4. It’s part of Cunard’s 175^th anniversary celebration. The trio will perform in the Royal Court Theatre and also participate in a Q&A session and autograph-signing sessions.
• Catch Kenny Rogers, Randy Owen (the lead singer of Alabama), The Oak Ridge Boys, and Mel Tillis, among others (some 50 performances in total) on the 2016 Country Music Cruise embarking January 16, 2016. The one-week cruise from Fort Lauderdale is on Holland America Line’s Westerdam. More at countrymusiccruise.com.
