Set Sail with the Latest Cruise Fashions from Chanel

Fashion giant Chanel unveiled their Cruise fashions 2018/2019 in the most literal way possible; with an actual cruise ship.

The ship, christened ‘La Pausa’ after Gabriel Chanel’s summer home in the French Riviera, served as a fitting backdrop on a runway filled with the hottest cruise fashions for the upcoming year.

After walking the runway, models gathered on the ship with Chanel Creative Direction Karl Lagerfeld for a spectacular photo op.

The Cruise 2018/2019 line features many traditional nautical themes; white and navy stripes, berets and straw hats, and plenty of tweed. One aspect that caught attendees off guard was each model sporting a set of white leggings, a fashion thought to have gone out of style years ago.

Several famous models were on hand to participate in the show, including Bella Hadid and her sister Gigi. Star of the Twilight movies and frequent Chanel collaborator Kristen Stewart also walked in the show wearing a sparkling tuxedo dress with a plunging neckline.

Chanel is known for extravagant displays when unveiling a new line. The fashion giant turned their Fall 2017 collection show into a life-sized space station. Other displays in the past include supermarkets, airports, carousels and several others.
