Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line Announces Enhancements to First Ship and Name and Itinerary for Second Ship

Cruise News – Dec. 13, 2017

Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line, the only cruise line with a two-night cruise departing year-round from the Port of Palm Beach, has announced that Grand Celebration will set sail with several new enhancements, including a new adult-only area, a revitalized casino, and specialty coffee and juice bar.

The ship will return to its regularly scheduled two-night sailings and Cruise & Resort Stay packages just in time for the holidays on December 23, 2017, from its homeport in West Palm Beach, Florida. Holiday festivities will include an appearance by Santa and a special New Year’s Eve party. Special festive holiday menus will be available in the complimentary and specialty restaurants, and holiday decorations will adorn public areas.

Since late September, Grand Celebration had been chartered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to provide housing to first responders and National Guard members who were helping to rebuild the U.S. Virgin Islands following damage caused by hurricanes Irma and Maria.

The 1,900-passenger Grand Celebration will set sail December 23 with the following upgrades:

  • Expanded, Enhanced Casino: The Par-A-Dice Casino has doubled in size, offering more slot machines, video poker, and enhanced table games. Nearly 70 of the most popular slot games have been added to the casino, bringing the total number of slots to 125, in addition to several new video poker machines. The casino’s table games area, which include Roulette, Blackjack, Craps, Three Card Poker, and the Ultimate Texas Hold ’Em Poker, have been divided into two comfortable areas and now also include raised maximum betting limits, the ability to make additional wages while playing blackjack, and the addition of electronic roulette machines for those who like to play without a crowd watching.
  • New Adult-Only Area: The forward sun deck at the top of the ship has now become The Oasis, a complimentary adult-only area for those ages 18 and over. The expansive area includes a bar, a large hot tub, all new sun loungers, and several outdoor daybeds.
  • Specialty Coffee Bar and Juice Bar: Baristas will prepare specialty coffees and servc gelato and pastries at the new Grand Café on Deck 9. Menu items feature a variety of hot or iced specialty coffees, teas, smoothies, and freshly squeezed juices. In the morning, guests can select from chocolate croissants, Viennese pastries, muffins, and quiche. Throughout the day, the Grand Café will offer sweet treats, including homemade gelato, sorbet, cakes, tarts, cupcakes, and chocolate truffles.

Coming in 2018: Grand Classica

In August 2017, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line announced that it had signed a 10-year agreement with the Port of Palm Beach and that it had purchased a second ship that will also be based at the port. The company has named the new 52,900 gross ton ship ship, Grand Classica, and it will carry up to 1,680 guests and features 685 staterooms, a multitude of restaurants and bars, a theater, two pools, four hot tubs, wellness center and spa, outdoor jogging track, and more.

Set to arrive in April, Grand Classica will also sail two-night cruises to Grand Bahama Island. With this second ship, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line will become the only line to offer daily departures to the Bahamas from the Port of Palm Beach.

“We have strengthened our relationship with The Bahamas by signing a three-year agreement to bring both ships to Grand Bahama Island, thus offering daily arrivals to Grand Bahama Island and giving our guests added convenience to fit their schedules,” said Oneil Khosa, CEO of Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line. “Having two ships sailing to Grand Bahama Island, Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line will be the largest provider of tourism to the island, carrying more than 500,000 passengers annually. It will also give our guests more flexibility and choice.”

Additional details about the new ship, as well as on-sale dates, will be announced in early 2018. Grand Classica is expected to begin sailings in mid-April 2018.

MSC Seaside, which will be held December 21 at PortMiami. As part of the ceremony, MSC will welcome special guests and entertainment, Miami authorities, global media, and key partners from across the travel industry.

Headlining entertainment for the event will be international superstar Ricky Martin, who will perform some of his most popular hits. Renowned for bringing Latin music to the forefront of popular music, Ricky Martin is a worldwide star who has recorded in many languages, and truly encompasses the international spirit of MSC Cruises and the city of Miami.

Lopez will welcome guests to the star-lit festivities on MSC’s “Blue Carpet,” where celebrities will give interviews, take photographs, and meet the crowds. Lopez will then take to the stage to host the evening’s entertainment.

An MSC Cruises’ naming ceremony would not be complete without the ship’s godmother, Sophia Loren, who has played the leading role in this time-honored tradition since 2003. As one of the most celebrated Italian actresses of our time, the glamorous Sophia Loren will christen the ship with a ribbon cutting and officially name MSC Seaside.

Go Small – The big advantages to small-ship cruising with UnCruise Adventures

by Judi Cuervo December 11, 2017
written by Judi Cuervo

The Monthly Mantra

A Whole Lot of Un … A Whole Lot of Un … A Whole Lot of Un …

Go Small

The big advantages to small-ship cruising

“No key card?? No big metal key attached to a 6-inch slab of plastic?? No little gizmo that electronically opens my cabin door as I approach it??? No key AT ALL???” As a paranoid New Yorker, this was the first indication that my cruise down the Snake and Columbia rivers aboard S.S. Legacy was going to be a whole lot of Un.

UnCruise Adventures’ 86-passenger S.S. Legacy, a cute little thing, has taken the traditional cruise experience and turned it on its ear. It offers all the good stuff such as great dining, fascinating itineraries, and a wildly enthusiastic American crew, and chucks even the slightest stress triggers overboard. Every passenger is even entitled to a free massage. Crowds and lines? Uh-uh. Dress codes? Nope. Bar bills and pricy shore excursions? Included and included. Pesky cabin keys that you know you’re going to misplace or demagnetize? They don’t exist.

S.S. Legacy is a replica coastal steamer just oozing with comfort and old world charm with bedside banker’s lamps, needlepoint headboards and throw pillows, and ruffled window shades in that unlocked cabin (which does include a safe).

We sailed round-trip from Portland, Oregon (another “un” moment … Portland??), a fantastic walkable city that’s filled with craft beers, wines from the region’s superb vineyards, and, for Grateful Dead fans or those otherwise so inclined, even a few cannabis shops where you can pick up THC-laced chocolate fudge cupcakes — legally.

But, seriously, who needs that when you can get your buzz on at S.S. Legacy’s comfy turn-of-the-century wood-paneled bar (all beer, wine, and cocktails included, of course) or at the teeny Pesky Barnacle, the ship’s self-serve whisky bar that also offers hard cider on tap.

This is a casual ship with a capital “C.” Go on: Shrug into the plush bathrobe in your cabin to swing by the breakfast buffet for coffee and a delectable berry-topped yogurt cup (just as an appetizer before you head down to a full breakfast in the dining room). Wear jeans and sneakers to dinner. Dive into the river you’re sailing for a refreshing swim. Pop into the bridge and chat with the captain any time you’d like because, just like your cabin, the door’s always open. And speaking of the captain, when was the last time you sailed a ship captained by a guy who’s so cool he breaks out his guitar on the last night and entertains guests with a few pop songs — both covers and some pretty darn good original ones?

A sailing aboard the charming S.S. Legacy isn’t just a unique cruise experience — it’s an intimate and personalized adventure that quickly proves that a whole lot of Un … is a whole lot of fun.

— Judi Cuervo

Norwegian Cruise Line introduces all-new Cruise Norwegian app

Cruise News – Dec. 6, 2017

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced the introduction of the next generation of its booked guest mobile application, the Cruise Norwegian app. Designed for use from time of booking to day of disembarkation, the new app helps make the most of the time on and off the ship as well as stay connected with friends and family on board and back home.

“Whether they’re 60 days from their sail date or in the middle of their cruise, the Cruise Norwegian app brings seamless anytime-access to a myriad of onboard offerings, services, and activities right into the palms of our guests’ hands,” said Andy Stuart, president and CEO for Norwegian Cruise Line. “Once on board, the Cruise Norwegian app will allow guests to continue customizing their ideal cruise experience and view or manage their existing account information, allowing them to maximize their time and spend it on the things they enjoy the most.”

The new app provides the capability to preview and book shore excursions, make dining and entertainment reservations, and purchase packages such as onboard dining and beverage packages or special occasion packages before the cruise. On embarkation day, the app provides directions to the port as well as saves time at the pier with a paperless boarding process with mobile e-docs and mobile online check-in functionality.

Once on board, guests can use the Cruise Norwegian app complimentary by connecting to the ship’s WiFi to stay up-to-date on what’s happening on board. Besides making onboard reservations, guests can stay connected with friends and family on board with the app’s unlimited onboard calls and messages for a one-time fee of $9.95. Groups can organize meet ups and share their favorite photos with everyone in their party with group messaging through the app. Those wishing to check-in with loved ones back home can make calls through the Cruise Norwegian app for a nominal fee of $0.79 per minute for outbound calls to nearly every country in the world.

Before disembarking the ship, guests using the app can track and review their onboard purchases, as well as view helpful disembarkation information including immigration and Easy Walk-off details. Users thinking of their next cruise can also view information about Norwegian’s Cruise Next program, review their Latitudes Rewards points, and learn about onboard tier benefits.

The free Cruise Norwegian app is currently available aboard Norwegian Sky, will be available aboard Norwegian’s newest ship, Norwegian Bliss when she launches in summer 2018, and will be available fleetwide by the end of 2018.

Carnival Revamps Menus, Reintroduces Baked Alaska

Carnival Revamps Specialty Dining and Breakfast Menus

Plus Reintroduces Baked Alaska

Cruise News – Nov. 30, 2017

As part of its ongoing effort to keep its culinary offerings fresh and exciting, Carnival Cruise Line is revamping the menus for several of its specialty dining venues and breakfast menus, as well as reintroducing Baked Alaska across the fleet.

The menus for Carnival’s steakhouses, Cucina del Capitano family-style Italian restaurants, delis, and main dining room breakfast offerings have undergone a transformation that results in a variety of new items that reflect lighter ingredients, updated preparation techniques, and attractive presentation.

In addition, Baked Alaska — a classic dessert made of cake and ice cream topped with meringue — is also being reintroduced after several years with uniformed waiters performing the time-honored tradition of parading the dessert throughout the dining room prior to service.

Cucina del Capitano antipastiThe updated steakhouse menus, which are currently available on three ships, feature appetizers such as Iced and Smoked Fresh Oysters with Apple Mignonette; Tuna Tartare with Yuzu Sphere and Avocado “Leche de Tiger”; Risotto with Crab, Mushroom, and Brown Butter; and Heritage Berkshire Pork Belly with Apple Walnut Preserve. These complement a selection of USDA prime steaks, including new items such as an A-5 Wagyu steak and lighter fare like Farmhouse Chicken with Roasted Honey Vinegar and Dover Sole Pan-Seared with Lemon Potato-Mousseline and Shallot Emulsion. Four additional ships are expected to get the new menus by early next year.

The new menu for Cucina del Capitano reflects the diversity of Italy’s culinary regions, with dishes like Branzino Al Forno in Crosta Dorata with tomatoes, stewed chickpeas, salmoriglio, and mushroom bark, along with Risotto Milanese with saffron and Parmesan cheese, Grande Braciola Di Maiale — a tomahawk pork chop with fennel pollen, shallots and crispy sage — and Costina Di Manzo Con Porcini with salsa verde and young tomato bruschetta. House-made burrata has been added to menus as well, with classic Italian favorites like chicken Parmesan, meatballs, and fried calamari also available. The new Cucina del Capitano menus are currently on three ships (Carnival Magic, Carnival Vista, and Carnival Breeze) with Carnival Sunshine expected to be updated next month.

Breakfast bowls in the main dining room

Breakfast menus in the main dining rooms are just as varied with options such as avocado toast; a Breakfast Bowl featuring kale, spinach, faro wheat berries, sesame seeds, feta cheese, raspberries, and a sunny side up egg; and fresh-baked Broccoli and Cheddar Egg Frittata. There’s also a Broken Egg Sandwich served panini-style with fried eggs, bacon, cheddar, greens, and hash browns; and a “Breakfast Board” with a soft boiled egg, house-made yogurt, seasonal jam, baby lettuce salad, pastrami, and grilled sourdough bread.

For those on the go, a new “breakfast express” is available on port days featuring orange juice, eggs, hickory-smoked bacon or sausage, and pastries, all “in and out” within 25 minutes. An assortment of traditional breakfast favorites such as French toast, pancakes and cereals is also offered. Thus far, 12 ships feature the new breakfast items with the balance of the fleet expected to receive the new menus by mid-2018.

The line’s delis have undergone a dramatic change as well, with an updated design and host of new choices, including seven sandwichesCarnival's Deli Sauerbraten Sandwich such as meatball, buffalo chicken, and The Cubano with roasted pork, ham, pickles, mustard, and Swiss cheese, along with Southwest chicken, falafel, and turkey wraps. Diners can also enjoy a sweet finish to their meal with a Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie baked fresh every morning.

Carnival is also re-branding its 24-hour pizzerias to Pizzeria del Capitano offering five kinds of hand-tossed, thin-crusted pies: Margherita, pepperoni, artisan-style quattro formaggio, mushroom, and prosciutto. The re-branded delis and pizzerias will be incorporated into additional vessels during scheduled dry docks.

Lastly, the popular Seafood Shack, which debuted on Carnival Vista last year and serves lobster rolls, fried clams, chowder, and other New England–inspired fare, has been expanded to nine additional ships.

Popular On-Air Personality Elvis Duran Named Godfather for Norwegian Bliss

Cruise News – Nov. 29, 2017

Norwegian Cruise Line has announced that Elvis Duran, nationally syndicated radio and digital personality and on-air host of iHeartMedia’s top rated, “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” will serve as godfather of its newest ship, Norwegian Bliss.

As godfather, Elvis will have an honorary role in the official ship christening ceremony on May 30, 2018, at Pier 66 in Seattle. The line’s 16th ship will sail weekly 7-day Alaska cruises during her inaugural summer season and, beginning in November 2018, will sail 7-day Eastern Caribbean cruises from PortMiami.

In the maritime world, it is a longstanding tradition to name a godparent of a new vessel and the honor is given to an individual who will officially christen a new ship, and remain in their role for the life of the ship.

While the ship is docked in Seattle on May 30, 2018, Elvis will join Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.’s president and CEO, Frank Del Rio, and Norwegian Cruise Line president and CEO, Andy Stuart, in the tradition of breaking a bottle of champagne against the ship’s hull and officially christening the vessel. Elvis joins the family of high profile godmothers and godfathers for the brand including Pitbull, Kim Cattrall, Reba McEntire, Rosie O’Donnell, Chinese pop star Wang Leehom, and the Radio City Rockettes.

Elvis Duran with Norwegian Cruise Line's Andy Stuart“Elvis Duran epitomizes the high-energy and liveliness that the ship represents and we’re very excited to have him join the family as godfather to Norwegian Bliss,” said Stuart. “As one of the most beloved radio hosts in history, Elvis’ commitment to entertainment and bringing laughter and joy to his listeners each day is exactly why we believe he is the perfect fit to represent Norwegian Bliss.”

Elvis Duran has become a household name in the industry since he began hosting the daily morning radio show on New York’s Z100 in 1996. Over the years, he has continuously shown his devotion to his listeners by seeking new ideas, fun games, and exciting interviews with celebrities. His radio career has spanned 30 years and today, the award-winning “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” on WHTZ, New York’s Z100, is syndicated nationally by Premiere Networks on nearly 80 radio stations across the country and available digitally on iHeartRadio, reaching more than 10 million monthly listeners.

“I am honored to be named godfather for Norwegian Bliss,” said Elvis Duran. “This incredible ship and all the innovative activities on board, from the race track to Broadway shows, perfectly reflect the energy and excitement of our morning show and we are looking forward to bringing our loyal listeners along for this once-in-a-lifetime experience. I can’t wait until she arrives next May!”

5 Faves: Save Our Ships

by Porthole Cruise and Travel Magazine November 28, 2017

How you can contribute to preservation efforts.

According to the website GivingTuesday.org, #GivingTuesday is “a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.” Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday is meant to kick off the holiday season by encouraging charitable donations.

So today, we at Porthole Cruise Magazine wanted to share some ways that our fellow cruise-loving friends can give back to their favorite ships of yesteryear by contributing to their preservation efforts.

Queen Mary

Launched in 1934 and retired in 1967 after 1,001 trans-Atlantic crossings, Queen Mary lives on as a full-service hotel, historical landmark, and entertainment venue docked in Long Beach, California. Providing a unique glimpse into a bygone era when steamships were the most regal way to travel, Queen Mary staffers work closely with ship historians on various renovations and preservation projects, which you can support by becoming an annual member.

S.S. United States

SS United States departing NY City. Photo courtesy Charles Anderson, SS United States ConservancyUpon her delivery to the United States Lines in 1951, the S.S. United States was the most graceful, modern, powerful, and sleekest vessel in the world. In fact, the American public embraced the S.S. United States so much that she became known as “America’s Flagship.” In 1969, while undergoing her annual overhaul at Newport News, she was abruptly and permanently withdrawn from service. Following a succession of different owners, she remains docked at Pier 82 on Philadelphia’s Delaware River. As the owners of the S.S. United States, America’s National Flagship, the Conservancy leads the global effort to save this one-of-a-kind piece of American history. You can play a role in the rescue and restoration of the S.S. United States by donating and becoming a member.

S.S. Rotterdam

The S.S Rotterdam has a long and rich history after coming into service for Holland America Line as its flagship in 1959. “La Grande Dame” was constructed in Rotterdam, left Rotterdam, and is now back in Rotterdam. Since 2001, the Friends of Steamship Rotterdam (or the Steamship Rotterdam Foundation) has continued her activities including securing the ship’s lasting preservation and use in a culturally and historically responsible manner. You can support these efforts through financial support or volunteering. In addition, the S.S. Rotterdam is open to the public for hotel accommodations, restaurants, and tours.

Delta Queen

Built in 1926, Delta Queen is an American icon and National Historic Landmark. In 1966 she ran afoul of new legislation, the 1966 Safety of Life at Sea Act (P.L. 89-777), which forbids large passenger vessels to sail from a United States port if constructed primarily of wood. On April 4, 2017, the Senate passed legislation that exempts Delta Queen from the law. The bill now moves to the House where it needs to be approved as well in order for Delta Queen to be able to run again as cruise ship on the Mississippi River and its tributaries. In the meantime, Delta Queen is moored in Chattanooga and is part of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, where you can donate to the campaign and stay updated on legislation.

S.S. Milwaukee Clipper

Launched December 22, 1904, and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1989, the steamship S.S. Milwaukee Clipper now resides in Muskegon, Michigan. Nicknamed the “Queen of the Great Lakes,” the 361-foot passenger and package freight steamer was the epitome of first class travel and sailed between Buffalo, New York, and Duluth, Minnesota, sailing through the late 1970s. Today, the S.S. Milwaukee Clipper Preservation is funded by tax-deductible gifts from individuals, grants, and businesses to preserve the legendary steamer. Restoration and maintenance is done totally by volunteers.

Celebrity Reveals Ship Designed for Galapagos Cruises

Cruise News – Nov. 16, 2017

Celebrity Cruises has unveiled Celebrity Flora, an elevated and inspired approach to marine exploration, designed specifically to cruise the Galapagos Islands.

One of the most energy-efficient ships of its size in the diverse archipelago, the 100-guest Celebrity Flora will offer seamless sea-to-shore transportation, and includes anchorless technology that maintains the ship’s position while protecting the sensitive sea floor. The Ocean Grill on Celebrity FloraInnovative outward-facing design gives guests 360-degree views of the islands, while personal suite attendants, new dining venues, an open-air stargazing platform, and expert-led ecological seminars will round out the modern luxury vacation experience.

“Celebrity Flora marks another example of our revolutionary ship design by allowing the destination and its environment to influence every decision we’ve made,” said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, president and CEO, Celebrity Cruises. “From the luxurious all-suite accommodations to industry-first, eco-friendly innovations, we created a ship that brings a new level of luxury, sustainability, and natural exploration to the region. Guests will feel as though they’re boarding a high-end yacht for a week of unparalleled adventures — and they are!”

Featuring Celebrity’s signature outward-facing design, Celebrity Flora virtually erases boundaries and brings this typically remote destination closer to guests. Educational, research-based programming gives travelers an opportunity to continue learning about the wildlife-rich Galapagos Islands.

The Marina is the primary point of access to the ship and can accommodate up to three Zodiacs at once, reducing transport time to and from land and allowing more time for guests to explore the practically untouched islands. The Vista on Celebrity FloraWhile on board, guests will unwind in the Sunset Lounge; find solace in The Vista, an open-air hideaway with 360-degree views, cocoon-style loungers, and private cabanas; and enjoy the breathtaking surrounds in the floor-to-ceiling glass-wrapped Observatory.

Darwin’s Cove and the Naturalist Center provide a bounty of information on the destination, wildlife, and environmental efforts, while the Discovery Lounge will be home to naturalist presentations and excursion information. Guests can participate in a guided astronomy tour or enjoy star-lit skies on their own from the Stargazing Platform.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served daily in the Seaside Restaurant; the Ocean Grill will offer a casual dining space, panoramic views, and Dinner Under the Stars; or guests can choose from in-room dining experience.

Celebrity Flora will feature all-suite accommodations with oversized bathrooms. These modern retreats bring the outside in through Celebrity’s signature outward-facing layouts and heralded Infinite Verandas, and come complete with sustainable, natural, regionally inspired materials. Personal suite attendants cater to guests’ needs.

Celebrity Flora’s two Penthouse Suites are the largest in the Galapagos with separate indoor and outdoor living areas, customizable lighting and shades, and a telescope for stargazing or wildlife spotting. Other accommodations include Royal Suites, Sky Suite with VerandaUltimate Sky Suites with Infinite Veranda, Premium Sky Suites with Infinite Veranda, and Sky Suites with Infinite Veranda.

The ship is one of the most energy-efficient in its class, with a 15 percent reduction of fuel consumption and equivalently fewer air emissions2, thanks to the introduction of an advanced propulsion system, hull configuration, and specially designed diesel engines. Two more firsts in the Galapagos: A dynamic positioning system allows the ship to stay in position without physically anchoring and damaging the sea floor, and zero speed stabilizers promise smooth sailing.

Celebrity will reduce the need for plastics on board by introducing in-room water filtration stations and by converting sea water and air conditioning condensation into pure, fresh water. Any materials that can be recycled, reused, or donated will be as part of a strict waste management system.

Celebrity Flora will sail from Baltra year-round, making her first sailing on May 26, 2019. Bookings for the alternating 7-night inner and outer loop itineraries are now open.

Disney Debuts “Beauty and the Beast” on Disney Dream and Announces Updates to Disney Magic

Cruise News – Nov. 15, 2017

“Beauty and the Beast,” a brand-new musical production inspired by Disney’s live-action adaptation of the animated classic, has debuted on Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Dream during the voyage that departed November 6.

The new show features a style of theater that interlaces classic storytelling elements with cutting-edge technology to create a unique theatrical experience in the 1,340-seat Walt Disney Theatre. This innovative take on the story – featuring high-definition projections, dynamic scenery, and a little bit of Disney magic – transforms renowned songs into show-stopping numbers, and lavish costumes and puppetry bring a fresh perspective to beloved characters.

A talented collection of Broadway artists created a new approach to this iconic story. Director and choreographer Connor Gallagher drew inspiration from the live-action film, but used the scenic motif of a music box to shape the “tale as old as time.” Set designer Jason Sherwood worked with video designer Aaron Rhyne to create a transforming set that takes audiences on a journey through the music box, from Belle’s provincial French town to the Beast’s mysterious castle. Complementing the LCD-projection walls and carefully choreographed set-pieces is lighting design by four-time Tony Award-nominated Japhy Weideman.

Costume designer Sarah Cubbage and puppet designer Jeff Conover joined forces to give life to the enchanted objects of “Beauty and the Beast.” Live actors become elements of the scenery, while beloved characters such as Lumiere, Mrs. Potts, and Cogsworth are brought into existence by actors in elaborate costumes manipulating innovative puppets in plain view on stage. “We need to remember they’re human in there,” explains writer Sara Wordsworth, who started drafting this project two years ago, when the live-action film was still in production.

“Beauty and the Beast” features songs from the original animated film’s award-winning soundtrack by acclaimed composer Alan Menken and lyricist Howard Ashman as well as two of the new songs created for the live-action film by Menken and lyricist Tim Rice: “How Does a Moment Last Forever” and “Days in the Sun.” Enchanting orchestrations by Matt Castle and Frank Galgano (“IntElaborate costumes and LCD-projection walls help talented actors bring this fairy tale to the stage. o the Woods”) bring a unique musical identity to the production.

Beloved songs like “Belle,” “Something There,” and “Beauty and the Beast” received a musical makeover that reflects the show’s stylized approach, while songs like “Gaston” and “Be Our Guest” are exuberant production numbers.

One of the most iconic songs has been completely re-imagined for the stage. “Be Our Guest” has become a multicourse French dinner rooted in imagination and fantasy, as rousing dance and dazzling visual effects fill the stage during this full-fledged spectacle.

New Spaces and New Experiences Debuting on Disney Magic

The line also announced new spaces and new experiences are coming to Disney Magic. Highlights include Rapunzel’s Royal Table, an all-new dining experience inspired by the beloved story of Disney’s Tangled that features characters and live entertainment that will transport guests to the kingdom of Corona for an evening of music and interactive fun featuring Rapunzel and the mischievous Snuggly Duckling Thugs.

In addition, Vibe is being transformed into a trendy urban loft environment where teens ages 14 to 17 can enjoy a new coffee and smoothie bar, play video and virtual reality games, and check out other activities like a DJ spin-off and movie making.

Also, the adult-only Cove Café will be redesigned in a sophisticated tropical style. This serene setting by the Quiet Cove Pool will also feature adult beverage tastings at select times for an additional fee. Just steps away, the adjacent Signals Bar will also be transformed with a similar look.

Other enhancements include the addition of Club Disney Junior in Disney’s Oceaneer Club and a redesigned Rainforest Room with steam and hydrotherapy in Senses Spa for adults.

These new enhancements debut on Disney Magic starting March 9, 2018, on sailings from Miami.
